Can someone please tell me how it got to be mid July!? Seriously, where does the time go?
Now that a good chunk of our relatively short Manitoba summer has already gone, I thought it would be a good idea to lay out a few things I want to accomplish before the leaves inevitably drop.
I’ve already crossed things off my 30 Before 30 list this summer (Half Marathon & Hiking the Manitoba sand dunes) but there are always so many more things I want to do. Apparently you accomplish more if you write things down – and I believe it!
So what other crazy summer bucket list items do I want to check off?
East Coast Adventure! Mr A and I are headed out to Canada’s Atlantic coast for 18 days of adventure. We’ve booked all our accommodations and bought a new smaller tent but still need to sort out our sleeping bags and other small but very important details.
Hit the Farmers Market! With a CSA already it’s not like I NEED to go, but I love the vibe, the eggs, and radish stacks.
Finally hit every GoodLife Fitness class – I’m certain I set out to do this last year but there are a few I’m missing still (basically all the cardio classes haha). Now is a good time to do it before I start training for my (spoilers!) half marathon in the fall.
Explore a few things in our neighbourhood before we leave it! Spoilers again: Mr A and I are moving (and very soon at that) so I’d love to try our neighbourhood Ethiopian restaurant, taking the river taxi, and biking to the park again before we move.
Explore our new neighbourhood! So much exploring this summer! I want to scope out the nearby parks, bike paths, and find a new go-to Thai takeout place!
Take a Downtown Winnipeg Food Tour. Downtown Winnipeg has exploded with restaurants lately and I NEED to try them all.
Make it to the lake at least one more time. Any lake will do, but I know with a very busy August before our trip this one could be tough to accomplish.
Harvest from my ‘garden’! Ok, so I’ve already harvested some basil and parsley but I’m talking cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers (if they grow past the flowering stage).
Let’s chat – Do you have a garden this year? Have you ever been to Atlantic Canada – do you have any recommendations? Should I recap our trip on the blog?
