The other day I had lunch with one of my best friends from high school. Now, I graduated about 5 years ago and since then we haven’t seen a lot of each other. The best part was it felt like no time had passed. In the half hour we had, we chatted non-stop. Finding out what was new, how the university semester went, how work was, and even a little bit of gossip from back home. I say ‘back home’ like where I grew up was some old-fashioned town in the middle of no where, it’s not like that.
It was a nice realization however, that you have another cheerleader for you out there. I may not see her as much as I would like to but I know every once in a while she thinks of me and hopes I’m doing well, and I do the same for her.
As much as many of us try to escape our high schools and high school friends, they’re the ones who know the most about you and they’re the ones who will always be there. Of course it’s ok to never talk to the really terrible ones ever again! I’m grateful for these people in my life and I hope we get to see a lot more of each other in the years to come.
